1. Information You Provide

The information we process depends on how you use OurSpace.

Account Information

When you create an OurSpace account, we may process information such as:

• your first and last name;
• email address;
• username;
• authentication information;
• account verification information;
• account status; and
• subscription or access status.

Authentication credentials are handled through secure authentication systems. OurSpace does not display or store your password in plain text.

Profile Information

You may choose to provide additional information for your OurSpace profile, including:

• display name;
• username;
• bio;
• profile image;
• banner image;
• custom Space name;
• profile visibility setting;
• writing or profile preferences; and
• appearance or theme preferences.

Some profile information may be visible to other OurSpace users. Your username and limited profile information may remain discoverable through account search or community features even when your profile is set to private.

2. Your Private Writing

OurSpace allows you to create and store writing and planning material such as:

• stories and manuscripts;
• chapters and chapter titles;
• outlines;
• beat sheets;
• character information;
• places and world-building information;
• research notes;
• story ideas and writing dumps;
• annotations;
• playlists or story references;
• story titles, genres, tags, blurbs, and statuses;
• writing goals;
• revision information;
• version history; and
• recovery drafts.

Your writing belongs to you. OurSpace does not claim ownership of your manuscripts, characters, ideas, notes, world-building, or other original work. You give OurSpace only the limited permission necessary to store, synchronize, recover, process, and display your writing in order to provide the features you use.

We do not sell your private writing. We do not license your private manuscripts to advertisers, publishers, data brokers, or AI-training companies. We do not use your private manuscript content to train generative AI models. Private manuscript content is not automatically published to the OurSpace community.

3. Writing Activity and Progress Information

OurSpace processes writing activity information to provide features such as writing sessions, progress tracking, streaks, summaries, goals, and recovery.

Depending on the feature you use, this information may include:

• story title;
• chapter title or chapter number;
• writing-session start and end times;
• writing-session duration;
• focus time;
• starting word count;
• ending word count;
• words added;
• writing streak information;
• completed chapters;
• writing goals;
• local calendar date;
• timezone;
• story progress; and
• timestamps associated with writing activity.

This information is used to provide your writing statistics and related OurSpace features. We do not use the substance of your private manuscript for targeted advertising.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

OurSpace uses local browser or application storage to protect your writing, improve reliability, remember preferences, and support offline use. Depending on your device and platform, this may include cookies, local storage, session storage, application storage, IndexedDB, or similar technologies.

Information stored locally may include:

• cached copies of stories;
• unsynchronized writing changes;
• recovery drafts;
• pending save or synchronization operations;
• writing-session information waiting to synchronize;
• writing progress;
• community information temporarily cached for faster loading;
• notification read status;
• Circle information;
• editor preferences;
• appearance preferences;
• onboarding status; and
• other application state needed for OurSpace to function.

Offline Writing and Synchronization

When your connection is unavailable or interrupted, OurSpace may temporarily keep changes on your device and synchronize them when a connection becomes available again. Pending synchronization information may remain locally until it is successfully synchronized or otherwise removed.

Recovery Drafts

OurSpace includes safeguards designed to detect certain unexpected or unusually large reductions in chapter content. When such a change is detected, OurSpace may preserve a recovery copy on your device.

5. Community Information

OurSpace includes community features that allow writers to interact with one another. When you choose to use these features, we may process information related to:

• community posts;
• writing-session posts;
• comments;
• reactions or Cheers;
• Circles;
• Sparks;
• profile interactions;
• participation in community activities;
• notifications; and
• similar social features.

Community information is different from your private manuscript. Your private chapters, drafts, notes, character information, outlines, and other manuscript material are not automatically turned into community posts.

6. Information You Choose to Share

Certain features allow you to deliberately share information with other writers. For example, when you share a writing-session update, the information displayed may include:

• your display name;
• username;
• profile image;
• story or book title;
• caption;
• words written;
• writing duration;
• chapter information; and
• related progress information.

Available sharing controls may allow you to choose an audience such as everyone or your Circle. Information you intentionally publish is no longer private manuscript information and may be viewed by the audience you selected.

7. Comments, Reactions, Circles and Sparks

When you interact with another writer, OurSpace may process information needed to record and display that interaction. This may include the accounts involved, the related post, comment text, reaction type, Circle relationships, Spark activity, and timestamps.

8. Writing Sprints, Challenges and Community Activities

If you choose to join a writing sprint, challenge, or similar OurSpace activity, we may process information such as story title, writing goals, starting word count, words written during the activity, chapter progress, and session timestamps. Joining a challenge does not automatically publish your manuscript content.

9. Notifications

OurSpace processes account and community activity to provide in-app notifications regarding posts, comments, reactions, Circle activity, and writing challenges.

10. Images and Other Uploads

When you upload files such as a profile image or banner, OurSpace processes the file so that it can be stored and displayed through the service. Please do not upload sensitive personal information or confidential material as public-facing profile media.

11. Purchases and Subscriptions

If you purchase an OurSpace subscription or another paid feature, we process transaction identifiers, plan details, and access entitlements. Payment credentials are processed by Stripe / PayMongo. OurSpace does not store your full credit card credentials.

Canceling a subscription does not automatically delete your OurSpace account or writing.

12. Technical and Security Information

When you use OurSpace, we process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the platform, including IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, request timestamps, synchronization logs, diagnostics, and security-related activity.

13. Support and Bug Reports

If you contact OurSpace for support, report a bug, or request help recovering writing, we process your email address, message, attached screenshots, and relevant diagnostics. OurSpace does not routinely read private manuscripts.

14. Why We Process Information

We process information to provide the writing workspace, save and synchronize your drafts, calculate writing statistics, provide community features, secure the platform, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

15. When Information Is Visible to Others

Your private manuscript is never automatically visible to other users. Profile information and content you choose to share publicly or with your Circle are visible based on your selected sharing preferences.

16. Sharing Information With Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information or private manuscripts. We work with trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, databases, authentication, and payment processing who process limited data solely to operate OurSpace.

17 & 18. Data Security and Data Retention

We use reasonable technical safeguards including encrypted connections, authorization controls, input sanitization, and sync safeguards. We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide OurSpace or meet legal compliance requirements.

19. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your OurSpace account and associated personal information at any time by emailing ourwritingspaceofficial@gmail.com with the subject "OurSpace Account Deletion Request".

When verified, OurSpace permanently deletes or irreversibly de-identifies your profile records, stored manuscripts, and analytics from active systems within 30 days.

20. Your Privacy Rights

Under applicable law, including the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), you have rights to be informed, access your data, correct inaccuracies, object to processing, request erasure or blocking, and withdraw consent. To exercise your rights, contact ourwritingspaceofficial@gmail.com.

21. Younger Users (Aged 13–17)

You must be at least 13 years old to use OurSpace. For teen writers, private writing remains private, we never sell your data, and we do not use your manuscripts to train generative AI.
