Profile and username
Your profile has a display name and an OurSpace username. The username appears with an @ on your profile and is also one of the identifiers you can use to sign in.
Open profile settings
- Open your own profile.
- Select the three-dot Profile options menu in the profile header.
- Choose Edit profile.
- Update the fields available in your current version of OurSpace, then save your changes.
The same profile menu also includes Download as PNG for saving a visual copy of your profile card.
Username rules
When a username is created, OurSpace requires:
- at least 3 characters;
- lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores only;
- a username that is not already in use;
- a username that is not reserved by OurSpace.
For example, quietwriter, quiet_writer, and writer2026 fit the allowed character format.
Your username is not the same as your display name. A display name can be shown more naturally on your profile, while the username is the unique account handle used for lookup and sign-in.
If the username you want is unavailable
Try a small variation using letters, numbers, or underscores. Availability is checked against existing accounts and reserved names.
If your current app version does not offer a username-edit field in Edit profile, contact support instead of creating a second account just to obtain a different username.
If your profile changes do not appear
- Confirm you are online.
- Reopen your profile after saving.
- Close and reopen OurSpace if the old profile is still displayed.
- If the change remains missing, contact support with your username and the field that did not update.
Do not include your password or OTP in a support request.
