Sync errors

A sync error means the app has not yet confirmed that a local change reached your account in the cloud. The safest response is to preserve the original device and let its queue finish before editing elsewhere.

Read the sync indicator

  • Offline — the server is currently unreachable from the app.
  • Offline · N pending — local changes are waiting to be uploaded.
  • Syncing N changes… — the app is actively draining the local queue.

Recover from a normal connection interruption

  1. Keep OurSpace open on the device where you made the edits.
  2. Connect to a stable network.
  3. Wait while the pending count decreases.
  4. Do not edit the same chapter on a second device until the first device is clear.
  5. Once syncing finishes, reopen the story and verify the latest text.

The app automatically checks queued work on startup and after returning online.

If the queue stays pending

  1. Verify that ordinary websites load on the same connection.
  2. Keep OurSpace open for a few minutes.
  3. Fully close and reopen OurSpace without clearing storage.
  4. Check the same story again.
  5. If the queue is still stuck, contact support.

Never use destructive cleanup as the first sync fix

Do not clear browser/site data, clear app storage, uninstall, or reset the device’s browser profile while pending writing exists. The queue and local story copy are part of the recovery path.

Report the sync error

Include the exact status text, pending count, device, browser/app, story/chapter, approximate last-edit time, whether you were switching devices, and any visible error message. Keep the affected device intact until the issue is resolved.
