Website issues
Use these steps for website problems that do not require deleting local writing data.
Basic checks
- Confirm your internet connection works on another site.
- Refresh OurSpace once.
- If the page still looks stale or partially loaded, fully close the tab and reopen OurSpace.
- Update your browser if it is several versions behind.
- Temporarily disable a browser extension only if you suspect it is blocking scripts, storage, or network requests.
If the PWA or website looks like an old version
OurSpace’s web app is configured to update its installed PWA automatically and clean up outdated cached build files. Fully close all OurSpace windows, reopen the app, and refresh once to give the new version a chance to activate.
Do not clear site data when writing may be unsynced
OurSpace stores local story data on the device and may keep queued changes there while you are offline. Clearing browser/site storage can remove that local recovery path.
Before clearing any site data:
- confirm the sync status has no pending changes;
- open important chapters and verify their latest text;
- export/copy critical work if needed.
If writing is missing, use My writing is missing before doing browser cleanup.
Isolate a browser-only problem
You may test the public sign-in page in another supported browser to see whether a layout or navigation issue is browser-specific. However, do not expect another browser or private/incognito window to contain the same local offline drafts; each browser profile has separate local storage.
Report the issue
Include the page you were on, exact steps, expected result, actual result, browser and OS, whether you use the website or installed PWA, and a screenshot or exact error message. If writing is involved, also state whether the sync indicator showed offline or pending changes.
