Account data handling
OurSpace needs some account and usage information to provide sign-in, writing tools, syncing, support, and paid access.
Information associated with an account
The current Privacy Policy describes information such as:
- email and account identity information;
- pen/display name and profile preferences;
- writing content and story metadata;
- account and writing analytics;
- device/log/usage information needed to operate and secure the service;
- billing-related records for paid access.
How the information is used
The policy says this information is used to operate the platform, provide writing and account features, communicate about account/support matters, improve the service using aggregated usage patterns rather than private manuscript content, process paid access, and protect the platform from misuse or security issues.
Security
The current policy describes encrypted web connections, protected password handling, and access controls intended to prevent one user from accessing another user’s private account data.
Retention
The policy currently states that account data is retained while the account is active, writing is retained until it is deleted or the account is closed, usage logs may be retained for up to 12 months, and some billing records may be kept longer where legally required.
