Manuscript confidentiality

OurSpace’s current privacy commitments treat private manuscripts as personal writing content, not public platform material.

What OurSpace says about private manuscripts

The current policy states that:

  • you retain ownership of your writing;
  • OurSpace uses a limited license only to store and display it to you;
  • private writing is not used for AI training;
  • private writing is not shared for marketing;
  • the platform does not claim the right to publish your manuscript.

Private workspace versus content you choose to share

Your manuscript workspace and community-facing features serve different purposes. If you intentionally post a quote, update, or other content to a public/community area, treat that as a separate sharing decision. Only post manuscript excerpts you are comfortable making visible under that feature’s selected audience.

Support requests involving manuscript text

You normally do not need to send the full manuscript to report a technical issue. Prefer:

  • book and chapter title;
  • approximate word count;
  • timestamp of the affected edit;
  • screenshot with sensitive text hidden where possible;
  • a short excerpt only if the text itself is necessary to reproduce the bug.

If support needs additional content to diagnose a specific problem, share the minimum necessary portion.

If confidentiality may have been compromised

Change your password if unauthorized account access is possible, preserve relevant screenshots/timestamps, and contact support promptly. Do not send credentials in the report.
